Which city fits your group?
Choose Shenzhen for hardware, connected products and a possible extension to a Hong Kong trip. Consider Shanghai for games, brands and design. Consider Beijing for technology businesses alongside history. The right choice depends on your route, interests and available time. Company visits require individual host agreement in every city.
Imagine your group has two spare days in China. One person wants to understand robotics. Another is curious about games. Someone else has already saved six restaurants.
You could squeeze everything into a schedule.
Or start with a better question: which city fits the people coming?
Shenzhen: products, hardware and the Hong Kong extension
Shenzhen is a strong starting point for hardware, connected products and everyday technology, especially around an existing Hong Kong trip.
Huaqiangbei brings together 35 specialised markets within a 1.45-square-kilometre core commercial area, according to Futian’s February 2026 report. That is a reason to arrive with a question, rather than a shopping list. Source ↗
Pair public product experiences with a relevant company visit where agreed, then leave room for neighbourhoods and Cantonese food.
Shanghai: games, brands and design
Shanghai offers a different conversation: games, entertainment IP, brands and design.
A requested company visit can sit alongside a walk through the former French Concession, xiaolongbao and an evening by the Bund. What people notice between appointments can become an interesting conversation over dinner.
Beijing: technology and history
Beijing brings technology and history into the same visit.
Explore a company request, hutong lanes and Peking duck. Give a Great Wall excursion a substantial part of a separate day, with the route shaped around travel time, daylight and conditions.
Start with the people and the route
These are starting points, not fixed itineraries. Shanghai and Beijing need their own travel plans; neither is a simple Hong Kong day extension.
Futurebound Private shapes paid programmes around your interests, whether you are travelling yourself, organising a team or advising a client. Company hosts, local delivery, inclusions and the written quote are confirmed before booking.
Before choosing more appointments, choose what you want to take home from the visit.
How to choose your city
| City | Interests | Travel fit | Planning note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shenzhen | Hardware, robotics and public product experiences | Can fit around an existing Hong Kong trip, with entry requirements and travel arrangements checked | Company visits require host agreement; public retail is not headquarters access. |
| Shanghai | Games, entertainment IP, brands and design | Plan around a Shanghai stay | Requested company visits, neighbourhoods, food and dining are scoped individually. |
| Beijing | Technology businesses, music and history | Plan around a Beijing stay | Allow substantial time for a Great Wall excursion rather than squeezing it between company appointments. |
One day or two?
One day works best with a focused purpose and a route that leaves room for travel and conversation. A second day can add another perspective and time for culture. It does not automatically mean more confirmed company access. For Shanghai and Beijing, the host, daily scope and fee are agreed by brief.
What does a company visit include?
A Company Access Day covers the agreed company visit, demonstration or hosted introduction. An Executive Meeting Day is a separate offering for a private, host-confirmed VP-level-or-above meeting. A company tour does not include an executive meeting by default. The named host, seniority where relevant, format, timing, inclusions and total fee are confirmed in writing before payment.
Can I request a specific company?
Yes. Tell us the company and the question you want to explore. We assess relevance, visitor fit and availability. Naming a company in a request is not confirmation that it will receive the group.
Can we combine cities?
A multi-city brief can be explored when it fits your travel plans. Shanghai and Beijing are not simple day-trip extensions from Hong Kong. Intercity travel, hosting, programme days and optional arrangements need their own scope.
What should I send to enquire?
Start with your likely dates, group size and two interests. Tell us whether you are travelling yourself, planning for a team or advising a client. Add existing bookings or appointments so we can assess what fits. No payment is taken at enquiry.
